The Finnish Youth Research Society is an association founded in 1987 with the aim of promoting multidisciplinary youth research in Finland and internationally. The society promotes dialogue between youth researchers, higher education institutions, research institutes and communities interested in youth research, develops national and international contacts between researchers, organises seminars and carries out research, communication and publication activities related to its field.
Membership of society is open to people who are interested in or involved in youth or youth-related research. Its members are mainly representatives of different disciplines and practitioners from all over Finland. The society has around 300 members.

Membership
Members receive a 25% discount on publications in the Youth Research Society’s publication series (also applies to publications already on discount). As a membership benefit, new members receive a 40% discount on their first book order. These benefits can be redeemed in the Bookstore Tiedekirja (Visit an external site. Members also receive a discount on participation fees for events organised by the society.
If you would like to become a member please fill in the electronic application form. Membership is granted by board of the society. The approval can take several weeks depending on the meeting schedules.
Please note that majority of the societys’s activities and publications are in Finnish.
Membership fees
- Normal membership fee: 30 €/year
- Students: 10 €/year (also applies to postgraduate students)
- Sustaining and community members: 120 €/year
After you have been granted the membership we will send you an information letter and invoice for the membership fee.
