I have been working as a researcher at the Finnish Youth Research Society since 2021, participating in various projects focused on young people’s mental health, participation, and experiences related to crises. My background is in sociology, and I am currently a doctoral student in Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of Jyväskylä.
My current research examines how services can effectively support youth in challenging life situations. I am particularly interested in understanding how services can assist young people with mental health issues and help prevent negative life trajectories.
Recently, I have been exploring anonymous online chat counseling conversations related to suicide and school shootings. As part of the Out of Despair project, I have also conducted ethnographic fieldwork and interviews with young adults about their experiences with near-miss situations involving violence, suicide, and overdose.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss topics such as despair, existential questions, or visions and hopes for the future!
