The 24th Annual Conference of Youth Studies will be held in Helsinki on 3–4 December 2026. The theme of the conference is The Diverse Everyday Lives of Young People. Please submit a session proposal (maximum 250 words) by 25 May 2026 via the electronic form (Visit an external site. The link opens in a new tab.).
The themes of the sessions may broadly relate to the diverse everyday lives of young people. Proposals may also address other current topics in youth research. The conference will be held primarily in Finnish; however, working groups in Swedish and English are also welcome. In addition to on-site sessions, proposals for virtual sessions are welcomed.
Notifications of acceptance will be sent by 8 June 2026. Call for Papers will open in June 2026.
Keynote Speakers
The keynote speakers at the Annual Conference of Youth Studies will be Professor Päivi Honkatukia (Tampere University, Youth Work and Youth Research) and Associate Professor Noora Pyyry (University of Helsinki, Department of Geosciences and Geography).
Organizers
This year’s conference is jointly organized by the Finnish Youth Research Society and the University of Helsinki’s disciplines of home economics (Faculty of Educational Sciences) and sociology (Faculty of Social Sciences).
