I work as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the research project Self-made futures: Young people’s capitalist and anti-capitalist strategies in a retrenching welfare state (DIYFuture) (2026-2029). I hold a PhD in sociology.
My research interests include futures of young people, family and intimate relationships, family-building, temporality, and social theory. In 2023-2026 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the project Networks of reproduction in the complex planetary future: Intimacy, companionship and family building in Finland, Portugal, and Scotland (NETREP), at the University of Eastern Finland. My doctoral dissertation (University of Helsinki, 2023) focused on friendship, sibling relationships, and family understandings of young adults in emerging nuclear families. I am a member of the editorial board of Perheyhteiskunta.fi, a Finnish blog popularising scientific research on families and intimate lives. I am also a board member of Finnish Society for Research on Families and Personal Relationships.
