I am a Master’s graduate in General and Adult Education with a social sciences orientation and a doctoral researcher (University of Helsinki). My research interests focus on the political subjectivity and democratic participation of young people and young adults, democratic theories, and democracy as practice. I am affiliated with the Finnish Youth Research Society, where I work within the Planetary Youth Research project in various research roles.

I conduct my doctoral research at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki, within the Doctoral Programme in School, Education, Society and Culture (SEDUCE) and at ARORA, the Research Centre for Social Justice and Equality in Education. In my doctoral dissertation, I develop a theoretical approach to democratic education grounded primarily in the philosophy of critical pedagogy, and in critical social theory and critical feminist theory.

My research focuses particularly on political subjectivity and radical democracy. My broader scholarly orientations lie at the intersections of the political sociology of education, social and educational philosophy, critical theory, sociology of education, comparative education, and youth studies.
