I currently work as a researcher in the “Self-made futures: young people’s capitalist and anti-capitalist strategies in a retrenching welfare state” research project. In the project, we ask how young people view preparedness, risks and risk management, how responsibility is understood and what meanings are attached to work and wealth.
I am a Master of Social Science with a background in Sociology (University of Helsinki, 2024). I have previously worked as a research assistant at the Gambling Harm team of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and at the Academy of Finland -funded research project Shifting Investment Cultures in Digital Spaces at the University of Vaasa. Prior to these, I did an internship at the Cultura Fund, where I worked on a report on Finland’s Russian-speaking population.
In my work, I am especially interested in the strategies through which young people relate to the crises, risks and uncertainties that seem to be characteristic of our time.
