Sustainability and planetary wellbeing

Climate change and species loss are a major threat to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Many SDG indicators for children and young people have gone backwards in the 2020s instead of forwards. In planetary youth research, young people and youth are studied in relation to the carrying capacity of the planet and the ongoing climate change and its environmental impacts, both in Finland and globally.

The theme encompasses research projects in the field of youth studies on sustainable development, as well as a research programme on planetary youth studies.
