The theme of the conference is The time together?

Youth, as a life phase, exists in time, and time influences the experience of youth. Young people of different generations come of age at different times and under varying societal conditions. The Annual Conference of Youth Studies 2025 will focus on the significance of time for youth. At the same time, we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of youth work education at Tampere University.

Program

The conference will bring together 20 working groups and also includes keynote lectures, posters, book launch, a pre-party for the scientific journal Nuorisotutkimus, and a joint evening celebration of the 80th anniversary of youth work education and the Annual Conference of Youth Studies.

Keynote Speakers

The keynote speakers at the Annual Conference of Youth Studies are Dr. Jessica Ringrose (University College London), Dr. Kat Simpson (University of Huddersfield), Dr. Ville Vuolanto (Tampere University) and Dr. Kaisa Vehkalahti (University of Jyväskylä).

Conference dinner

A joint dinner of the 80th anniversary of youth work education and the Annual Conference of Youth Studies will be held on November 13 at 7 pm at Restaurant Aleksis (Kalevantie 2). Dinner tickets can be purchased when registering for the conference.

Participation fees

  • Normal participation fee 90 €
  • Reduced participation fee (members of the Finnish Youth Research Society and doctoral students) 50 €
  • Students 20 €

When registering, you can become a member of the Finnish Youth Research Society and pay a reduced participation fee.

The participation fee includes the conference program and coffee breaks.

The Annual Conference of Youth Studies 2025 are jointly organized by the Finnish Youth Research Society and Tampere University (Faculty of Social Sciences, Youth Work and Youth Research Study Line.
