The research project was prompted by a public debate in late 2020 on “youth phenomena of concern”, which in our time are common to all of us, and which are in many ways stressful and distressing. In this context, a need arose to ask,
- how the social fabric of young people is formed in a digital society like ours
- how services work for different population groups
- how young people’s regional and local ties are lived out in their everyday lives
- what kind of groupings young people form
- how they move in public and semi-public urban space as part of their peer group orientation in the geography of the city.
Adult society does not know everything about the multiple affiliations of young people. To explore such questions and continue the debate, a multi-stakeholder community knowledge and information activism project was built.
