The academic and applied research carried out by the Finnish Youth Research Society produces both long-term studies that transcend parliamentary terms and addresses current issues. The topics can range from the growing and living conditions of young people, to young people’s experiences of current issues and intergenerational interaction. Our research also produces knowledge about youth policy.
In youth work research, our long-term goal is to produce systematic, cumulative and critical knowledge about the objectives, methods, impact and young-people-as-clients of youth work. Youth work is one of our main areas of research.
The thematic area is coordinated by Leading Senior Researcher Tomi Kiilakoski.
